lots to share

I've got some updates for you all :).  I know it's been a long time.  I'm just finding it hard to make some time available for blogger.  I do regular updates on Facebook and Instagram, straight from the phone. (links to be found on the right if you want to follow me there).

So about crochet (cross stitch, see below):

pink bunny, made with leftover Catania cotton on hook 2,5
free pattern by Magoo

Chicken made with Catania cotton on hook 2,5
pattern by Woolytoons crochet, I got it from a book

Yoshi, made with Phildar Cotton 3 and hook 2.5 for the head and 3.5 for the rest
free pattern when taking part in the Echtstudio Crochet a Long on Facebook

As for cross stitching:
January-June on the Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery SAL

Solo the cat, a kit by Anchor.  I changed the aida for evenweave.  All these backstitches on aida would have been a real pain.

Wherefore art thou SAL by Casa Cenina. Pattern obviously by Nora Corbett
stitched with DMC floss and lots of mill hill beads

So curently I haven't got any more crochet planned (but things can always change quickly).  I'm finally adding the beads to my January Garnet Fairy (also by Nora Corbett).  I finally found the right thread to use. I'm also working on July and August of the Pumpkin Passport SAL and I've got one of Nora Corbett's red ladies planned when I've finished the above :).

Busy Busy Busy :)

'till next time!

Last chance to enter my GiveAway

You can win this pattern on my Instagram here, just leave a comment.  Will announce a winner on Monday

Cross Stitchy Finish

I once started this one for someone who was getting married... but then the wedding was off... So I've put it away somewhere.
I'm trying to clear away some of my unfinished projects and I came across this one. Took me a couple of weeks to finish, had a lot of frogging to do.  I think this project was cursed, or maybe I shouldn't stich when I'm tired...

Lizzie*Kate - A Good Marriage
32ct Lambswool linen (Wichelt Imports)
Crescent Colours
Sampler Threads
DMC

Thinking about my next project now... maybe some crochet untill the next installment of "The Pumpkin Passport", rather impatiently waiting for that one ;)

You can now also follow me on Facebook, every follow is greatly appreciated.

'till next time x

Stitchy update and a GiveAway

Sometimes life gets in the way of everything.  And this year didn't really start all that great with the passing of my grandfather.  He was 83 and meant the world to me.

Stitching or crocheting was not a priority really. But I'm getting there.  Here's what I've been up to

I've signed up for the Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery SAL.  I'm enjoying these little installments, London and Paris, two of my favourite cities.  I'm planning on going to London in October for the Harry Potter Play.

Next there was this kit with kittens.  I think it's by RTO, I bought it at a craft fair a couple of years ago.  It was somewhere in my WIP pile.  But now it's finished :).  I did chance the fabric to linen, since I don't really like working on Aida.

I have got a similar kit with little dogs as well.

I needed to get more paper bobbins to store my DMC fibers, so I've ordered some online.  And got a bit carried away, and ordered a Lizzie Kate chart and overdyed floss as well.  I've fnished stitchin this one in just 2 evenings.

As for the Giveaway, I'm giving away this Lizzie Kate pattern on my Instagram, so head over there, follow me, find the right post and give me a comment.  You might win this one.  Only got 2 comments, so you have a fair chance ;).

If you don't have Instagram and you still want this pattern you can leave a comment.  I'll see what I can do.

This link should take you to the right post.

I've been a bit quiet lately...

I must admit, I've failed to keep you all informed of my creative musings... I didn't feel like I had much to share in the last two months... not that I haven't been busy... not at all :)

Firt of all, I want to wish all my readers a very happy 2016.  I wish that all of your dreams may come true.  I also wish you a lot of stash ;)

So what happened... I've finally finished European Bistro by Dimensions.  My mum is very happy with the result, we will go frame shopping somewhere in February.

Kit by Dimensions - European Bistro

After I finished this one, it must have taken me about 3 years I think (I've been doing other projects as well) I took out another WIP.  Christmas stockings, also by Dimensions.  They stitch up very fast I must admit.  Only the cording, bows etc, I will do at the end, so I'm sure I don't run out of threads.

Christmas (or my brother) brought me 2 new crocheting books, and as a thank you to my brother, I told him he could choose one pattern for me to make.  below the result.

Meet Kay Crocodile by Woolytoons

I've also had a pending order I needed to finish, a colorful family of mice :)

Free pattern by Stip en Haak

So I guess the new year started very well, I hope there are a lot of creative new challenges coming my way in the next year, I've got some projects I'm looking forward to, more about that in a next post.

Take care, stay safe and I hope to hear from you all soon.

bummer...

Working on the European Bistro cross stitching project at the moment.  I do want to finish it sometime soon since my mum has moved home recently and is saving some space on her living room wall.  I've been working on it on and off for 2 or 3 years now and I came to realize last night that I won't have enough thread of a certain color.
I know Dimensions has their own threads, and color codes, and whatevers, so I've e-mailed them for some extra threads. I got a very nice e-mail back stating they're processing my request but it may take 2 to 3 weeks to get to me (in Belgium).  Well I hope I don't run out of thread before that :).

I'm glad they provide that service.  It wouldn't be the same if I tried to substitute the fibres with some other brand.  And I do intend this project to be perfect and flawless for a change ;). I'll keep you posted.
